    Unable to format this column

I extracted this excel from another program. These numbers represent something and I need to be able to format the cell to remove the 00000 in the front but no matter what I do it won't change. Can somebody help? Thanks

    Hi

    see attached file

Enter this formula in adjacent cell [B1]
    =MID(A1,2,5)*1
..and then copy the formula down column [B]
(if you put the cellpointer in cell [B1] you can then double-click the 'square blob' in the bottom-right corner of the cell to copy the formula down to all cells)

You can the copy the formulas and paste back as values.
Then delete column [A] to just leave the numbers.

NOTE: The original 'numbers' have leading AND trailing spaces!
