    Disc partition management

    i have a a hard drive partitioned equally and i need to alot more room to the primary one If i shorten the other one will it automatically lengthen the primary I dont want to lash it up, vista premium

    To do the job, you will need a third party partitioning tool. I use Minitool Partition Wizard, but others are available.

    Be aware if you have data "near the borders," the process could take quite awhile, data must be "moved" from the ToBeShrunk partition to the ToBeExpanded partition.

    I always have to remember to shrink the second partition from the left so as to create unallocated space between the first and second partition to be able to expand the first to the right to encompass that free space, don't want it to end up at right end of the second partition.
