KB3119142 Successfully Installs Over and Over

Yesterday, I ran the updates that were offered for my Windows 10 Pro system. The updates installed successfully. I checked the Update history, and “Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Update 4 Redistributable Package (KB3119142)” is listed as having been “Successfully Installed on 1/12/2016” _five_ times. Today, it "successfully installed" this update _six_ times.

Anyone else experiencing this issue? Everything is working as far as I can tell and I get no error messages. There is something about this update that is not getting installed correctly.

Try uninstalling Visual C++ and reinstalling it from here:

I had lots of versions of the software - and I uninstalled all of them. I don't seem to have any programs that depend on having this available, but I did reinstall via the link you provided. I'll see how it goes.

    Thanks for the response.

Uninstalling all the versions of the software and then installing the version from the link provided by jwitalka seems to have stopped the problem. Yesterday and today, I didn't get more versions of the update.

Thanks to jwitalka for this suggestion.

Does anyone know of a list of programs that use the Visual C++ runtimes? I don't seem to have any programs that need it (after uninstalling all the versions of this software and rebooting, the system performed normally - and my key applications had no problems running).
