    macro not working (2000 SR1)

    Hi All,

    I am trying to create a macro to insert an arrow graphic in a Word doc. The graphic is stored on the web server so the address is an http:/ address.

    I recorded the macro (not a VB wiz), using the steps to insert the graphic and it doesn't work.

    Here's the text of the macro (xxx's used as a precaution):

    Selection.InlineShapes.AddPicture FileName:= _
    "http://www.iod.hr.go.xxxxxx.com/images/rightarrowbutton.gif", LinkToFile _
    :=True, SaveWithDocument:=False

    It says that the path is incorrect. Note that when I do this by hand, it works. It even worked during the recording. Can someone tell me what's going on? Does the VB just not like the http path?

    Thanks,
    Laura

    I got the same thing trying to link or embed a .gif on the web. Turns out to be a bug, but there is a workaround:

    <A target="_blank" HREF=http://support.microsoft.com/directory/article.asp?ID=KB;EN-US;Q209856>WD2000: Run-time Error 5152 Using URL with InlineShapes.AddPicture</A>

    Thanks, I will try that. I'm relieved to know it's a known bug. It seems like a lot of problems that I have with Word just don't have a solution or even a reason for occurring.
