Who is D/Ling and how is 'who' built 11102 relevant to "insiders, not the common users"?

Come on Paul. You know he is referring to the new just released Build as as one released to the Fast Track Insiders only. You would have more of an issue with French as Jean does with English.

    OK Bruce ?
Thought the Insiders thing contained the Fast Ring and Slow Ring, didn't know us "commoners" were involved.

Yes, Jerry, I am still having semantic problems, it will not stop me from having fun.

I gave you a thank click even if it is not useful except to my ego and it has no right here.

Now, about W-10. They have still again as always monkied around with the Homegroup settings. Have you seen this too ? I have up to seven machines on my LAN here, I use the Homegroup to save some important to me data, like bank account and such. Today, the LAN was asking for ID and PW when I want it open access, after all, I have no secret to myself.

So, I dutifully entered the PW, nogo! I tried a few times then gave up. I then opened up the Network and voilà, I could see all other machines. Go search ! I have "Insider Hub" this. It is a pity that we do not get any feedback on our feedback but I understand that it would be overwhelming.

I did not mind Bruce's note, I have a feeling that you read it. All very fine wishes. Jean.

I got build 11102 and it fixed my network problem. Now all my PCs see each other and are accessible.

Who is this Bruce person you lot keep talking about? Seems a bit strange to start of a thread with reference to whoever that is, then refer to them again without them having ever (apparently) contributed to the thread...

My mistake, I meant to refer to your post rather than Bruce's.

    Joe,

Lucky you! I still (Build 11102) can't access the other computers (NO MS Accounts) on my network when I signon with my MS Account. When I switch over to my Local account I have no problem! I'm using Advanced Sharing and the Authenticated Users Group. HomeGroup services are disabled.

    @RG,

Have you seen Fred Langa's article about resolving Windows networking problems in issue 515 of the newsletter?

    Joe,

Yeah I read that and just reread it. I don't think I want to mess up 4 different computers and a NAS box that are working just fine to try to get the 5th one working with a MS account when it's a lot easier to just log on to that machine with a Local account where everything just works. As you can well guess I'm not a big fan of the whole MS Account thing...just not ready to drink that cool aide just yet!

May the Forces of good computing be with you!

I'm the one who originally deleted your post.

Your premise is false. As I said via PM when you contacted me, none of that was apparent - especially with the OP using 'built' instead of 'build'. As is evident from my reply to the original post, I thought from the post D/Ling was supposed to be a person responsible for the build. The post and thread title have so be some of the most obscure ones going.

Just because you don't know where you are going doesn't mean any road will get you there.

    Hence my original deletion.
We need to demand more from an individual making a new topic, such as CONTEXT.
Not everyone is going to know what the heck your taking about, even if one does, it shouldn't excuse a poorly made post topic.
