Question re windows 10 and microsoft outlook

I am thinking about downloading Windows 10 and i have always used Microsoft Outlook for my email client. If I download Windows 10 will it default to my current email client or will I have to go through gyrations to be able to still use Microsoft Outlook?

If the answer is that it will not default to Microsoft Outlook what will I have to do to change whatever it does default to after the download?

What OS are you upgrading from? If you do an upgrade install, all your current apps including Outlook will be preserved.

I will be upgrading from Windows 7 Home Premium and will do an upgrade install rather than a clean install, which I am not comfortable with knowing how to do.

Make an image to an external disk first - you can't be too careful.

Unless you have a really ancient version of Outlook you should be fine. Just be sure to do as Paul recommended and backup your system before you start the upgrade.

If you have the GWX application from Microsoft installed you can use it to run a compatibility check on your current setup.
