Hiding tet from printing (Word 2000)

    Hi Everyone,

Someone mentioned to me that you can create a document and when viewing it on screen you can see it
however when you print out the document it is not printed.
Something to do with bookmarks, is this possible?

    Thanks Kindly,

    Kerrie

Re: Hiding tet from printing (Word 2000)

it can be done using a font setting of 'Hidden'

i suggest that you create a new style of 'Instruction' or some other meaningful name, then edit the style, go to font, check the hidden box and press OK a few times. It may also help to change the font colourr so that you can easily tell that the text will nto be printed.

Then if you applyhis style to the text it will disappear - unless you set reveal codes on, then you wil be able to see it. It will not print however.

I do not know how to do this with bookmarks.

    I hope this helps.

Two related settings for hidden text are:
.Tools, Options, View tab, Hidden text
    .Tools, Options, Print, Hidden Text

We create instructions to users with hidden text- we also change the font colour to red to make it stand out. We have to use VBA to force viewers to be able to see, but not to be able to print, hidden text
