    Word 2013 advice sought

Whenever having a Word 2013 Document open I get a orange horizontal bar under the ribbon mentioning that updates are available.
I am tempted to proceed with these downloads, but my intellectual side tells me that it would be wise to get a 2nd (or even 3rd opinion) because Office 2013 was installed from DVD. Are these genuinely ‘updates’ or is someone trying to give me a virus?

Have a look at this How to update Office 2013 manually article for info about the Office 2013 update process.

    Hope this helps...

    Thanks Rick

I can rest-at-ease and update, I can kick myself for never noticing this update option.
As an added question - (this may be a dumb question) - is it possible to automatically download/install any consecutive updates without any human intervention?

It is one of the available settings in the same dialog.

I don't see the "Manage Updates" box when I select Account from the File tab in Office 2013 Professional Plus.

IMO, it would be better to start a new thread rather than change the focus of this (Robko's) thread.

Do you see a button for "Update Options?"
