    Windows 10 upgrade failure

Recently I attempted to upgrade my Windows 7 Pro PC to Windows 10. I didn't expect a problem. My Win 7 has worked well for years. My primary drive is a Samsung SSD. But I made a complete backup before the upgrade just in case.

At first the upgrade seemed to be going well. However I eventually reached the point where a reboot generated the message:

The boot configuration data for your PC is missing or contains errors.
    File:\Boot\BCD
    Error code 0xc000000f
You’ll need to use recovery tools.

It was not possible to start Windows in Safe Mode. Fortunately I did have a backup and was able to restore my Win 7 system. But I'm at a loss to explain the failure.

    TIA.

Hi I would recommend using the media creation tool. I have used it to upgrade 5 PC's. IMHO it's the best way to up grade to W10! Once you have the flash, click on setup at the very bottom!

Thanks! I can't upgrade at this time. But when I have a chance I'll use that tool.
