CCleaner v5.15 Pro starts, then shuts down

I've been using CCleaner for years. Now when I start v5.15, the programs opens, sits there for 3 or 4 seconds, then closes. I reinstalled, didn't work. I tried to uninstall using Revo Uninstaller, but it doesn't even show up there(!?), so I uninstalled it from the control panel. I then reinstalled it from a new download. It installed, asked me for my registration key, opened, & again shut down after 3 or 4 seconds. It used to sit there for 15-20 seconds (because of CCEnhancer?).
    What's up???

Go back to the previous version and test it.

As silly as this might sound, reinstall your pro ccleaner within Safe Mode with Networking. If it installs, immediately go through its menus and disable anything/everything, num-num it down to a "sit-there & do nothing" state. Back into regular mode, if proCcleaner comes up, sits there like a lump-lump, and does not suddenly close -- one at a time, set a desired thingie, restart, and if after a few configurations and no more sudden deaths, you should be good to go with Throttle Up.

And, are you by any chance running anything similar to WinPrivacy and/or WinAntiRansom, those thingies, regardless of software-maker, often have to be "told" which programs to allow.

Installed v 5.14 free, it ran fine. I closed it, then re-opened it, now it closes after a couple of seconds like the 5.15

Have you tried the portable version available at CCleaner - Download Builds?

What happens when you right click on the icon and Run as administrator ?

As it's closing, there may be something in Event Viewer - check for the time stamps for when it fails.

OMG, that worked! I've been using CCleaner since '08 or '09, never had this problem. I wonder what's changed in the new version???

    Thanks, JoeP517!

Glad it worked for you. Perhaps you should let the Piriform people know of your issue.

I have the latest version of CCleaner, albeit the free version and don't have any problems with it.

I would be asking what is on my computer that doesn't like the newer version and the place I would start would be in msconfig with a clean boot.
