    Revert back to 8.1

Has anyone gone back from Win 10 to 8.1 using MS option in Win 10? Is it successful and do you loose anything? Win 10 hijacked my sound card replacing it with theirs and same with printer. Really disappointed in this. Any help or advice will be most appreciated. Thanks.

    Squire,

Why not go to the manufactures sites for the two items in question and download W10 drivers to fix the problem. If that is a no go then try the roll back. BTW: Did you take an Image of your drive before the upgrade? That is a better path back IMHO. HTH

Thanks RetiredGeek for responding. I'm ashamed to admit that I didn't make a backup. I knew It would bite me and it has. As the first computer I upgraded to Win 10 went without a hitch, I assumed, and we both know about assuming, The second would go the same; Not. Do you happen to know if it reverts to original 8.1 without a hitch?

Reversion is done using the files in the Windows.old directory.
The computer should revert with all settings in place. Make an image, then revert to W8 and let us know how it goes.

    cheers, Paul

    Squire,

Sorry but the only revision I did was via a Macrium Reflect full disk image, which went just as smooth as glass. Although I have since finally upgraded that machine to W10 again and it has been running just fine for a month now.

    Good Luck!

Reverted back to 8.1 without a hitch. Being able to revert to your previous operating system was the best thing about Windows 10. Thanks guys.
