    Question LS-120 anyone?

I ran across two LS-120 disks from 2002.
Don't have any idea how I got to these but I believe back then they offered MUCH higher storage capacity than any other portable media.

    Anyone out there who could
either convert the pictures from a once-in-a-lifetime trip to a USB drive
or point me to a commercial conversion service?

For private help I would happily supply the USB stick and reimburse for any eventual cost.

    Thank you in advance.

The LS-120 [120MB] is actually a bit older than 2002, it was a competitor to Iomega's Zip100 [100MB] disks [also known as a Super-Floppy]. To get the data you'll need access to an LS-120 drive, haven't seen one in quite awhile. I still have a WinXP computer with a Zip250 drive but it won't read the LS-120 disk.

Probably can find LS-120 drives on eBay.

    Need an IDE interface too.

Hopefully the surface and coercivity of the two disks has held up over this amount of time.

    FN thanks.
Currently I don't see the Thanks button. ? Oops, there it is again; go figure.

The IDE interface kicks it for me, the machine doesn't have it any more.

And then, I FOUND the pictures safely tucked away in a folder slightly outside of my usual naming convention; and the latter has changed over time.

Hi Eike, I've just found 3 un-opened SuperDisks and an LS-120 SuperDisk drive in a old, beige Compaq tower PC. I'd forgotten all about the PC and it only came to light when I was having a garage clear out.

However, it sounds like you no longer need the use of one. Is that right?

Rick, You are correct, this thread has become superfluous thanks to my find.
I 'smell' i your words willingness to help; thanks a lot for that.

BTW, I am missing in this forum some means to close a thread; grrr.
