Lots of "Page Not Found" and internet time-outs since W10 upgrade

Since upgrading my desktop to W10 I have been experiencing very many (from a few to several per hour) browser fails. I'm using Firefox and always updated to latest version.

When I click a link panel on a fresh browser page (sites I've already been to) I often get Page Not Found and have to hit the reload icon perhaps three, four, five times before the page loads.

When replying on a forum I often get a similar fail as I the computer can't find it's way to the forum it's already on. I've learned to write my reply, copy it to clipboard, and if the error occurs I reload the original page, paste in my reply and hit Submit before W10 forgets where it is.

I never had problems like this in W7. It's only since the upgrade to W10. Anybody else finding these problems? I've not found anything in my search of the Lounge threads.

Does the same thing happen if you use Edge? If not, un/re-install FF.

    cheers, Paul

The first step in any troubleshooting is to clear the browser cache/cookies. (you need to clear ALL cookies)

*For Internet Explorer browser & MSN Butterfly: Press CTRL+SHIFT+DEL simultaneously and click Delete
*For Google Chrome: Press CTRL+SHIFT+DEL simultaneously and click Clear Browsing Data
*For Firefox: Press CTRL+SHIFT+DEL simultaneously and click Clear Now
*For Edge they are in settings (three dots>history>clear all settings)
    (other browsers are similar)

If clearing the cache doesn't help answer these.

Are you accessing your mail via a web browser or email client? See the differences between them here
Are you having problems accessing other accounts on the same computer?
Does the same problem exist when you use a different browser?
Does the issue persist on other computers?

See if resetting the winsock will help - open a Command Prompt (Admin) and enter netsh winsock reset follow that with exit to close the cmd window then reboot.

Thanks for your replies. It's been a few weeks since I posted the problem and am just getting back to here.

I will chase up all the suggestions and get back with the results.
