    Talking When Opening Form Only File, the Worksheet Flashes Before the Form Opens

    Hi Experts,

    I have a file set up so the user only sees the form, nothing else.

    However, when the shortcut is clicked from the desktop the user sees a quick flash of the worksheet before the form opens.

    Also, assuming there is code to suppress the quick flash, where would it go?

    Not a big deal, but if it can be eliminated it would be better. I would like to know how. I've searched Google and tried a few things but it

    Thanks

    Have you tried adding Application.WindowState = xlMinimized to your workbook_Open event routine?

    Code:
    Private Sub Workbook_Open()
        Application.WindowState = xlMinimized
        Application.Visible = False
        UserForm1.Show
    End Sub

    E.N.,

    The only fix for that flash is a faster computer, I don't get on mine!

    Seriously, I don't know of a way to stop that. Of course I still get the Excel startup msg but I never see the grid. Of course you can get rid of the Excel startup msg very easily by including the /e switch in your shortcut target, e.g.:
    Code:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\EXCEL.EXE" /e  "G:\BEKDocs\Excel\Test\EN-HideShowApplication.xlsm"

    Thanks for the info. I guess the computer I purchased in 1990 needs to updated.
