Creating a Windows Installation USB Stick From a DVD?

I know I have read on this forum that this can be done; just wonder if someone can give me a quick crash course, or link me to the correct thread please.

    Thanks,
    rstew

@ holdum333 - that is to create a bootable USB from an ISO and not from an install disk.

@rstew - you can create a bootable USB using DISKPART.

This seems to be the clearest tutorial I can find - http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/usb-ins...xtra-software/

Thanks Sudo; that looks like it would work OK.
Since I actually have the iso file as well, I think I'll try the method shown in holdum333's link.
    Thanks to you both.

You are very welcome. I use flash's all the time. To me they are more reliable!
    Good luck!

    SUCCESS!
I downloaded the USB-DVD Download Tool and created an install USB from the iso file.
Works just great. And just for info it works for Server 2008 64 bit just as well as standard versions of Windows.

    Cheers,

I also use the Windows tool to create bootable media from the ISOs I have and if you have an ISO, the Windows tool is the easier method - and equally glad to see you have it sorted.

Hi rstew ! While you're in the flash drive creating mood, I recommend creating a rescue drive. You can use it if your PC ever fails to boot windows.
