    Start menu does not function

My wife's Windows 10 laptop does not allow a left click on the start menu. I have seen the recommendation to use the BT suggestions.

I have tried the first 2 of 4 suggestions with no joy.
I'd rather not go down the tedious route of using the last 2 suggestions. Has anyone else solved this irritating problem?

    Help please, Colin

I went ahead and tried the 3rd method, creating a new user account. When I sign in I get an error message "The ProfSvc Service failed the signin. User Profile cannot be loaded"

That sounds like you may have file / disk corruption.
I'd create an image backup before doing anything else. Use an external disk and one of the free backup apps, like Aomei Backupper.
Then I'd run the Windows fix command.

    cheers, Paul

Thanks for your reply Paul. I've bitten the bullet and re-installed Windows 10 - it means my wife gets a nice new squeaky clean computer.
Everything now working as expected including the start menu :-)
