    No Action center found

I upgraded to 10 a month ago from Win 7. I do not have a touchscreen. I just found out about the Action Center and what I read intrigued me. However I can find no evidence whatsoever that it exists on my system. I have done no "deep dive" modifications other than stuff available in the control panel and settings.

    1. The registry key is set at 1 which supposedly is the correct setting for On.
    2. The notification icon is set to ON.

    Any ideas?

Check to see if you have the Action Center turned off. Settings | System | Notifications & Actions | Turn system icons on or off. Make sure the Action Center is ON.

Just to be sure, you don't see the Action Center Icon just to the left of Date/Time on the task bar?

No icon by the clock. In the settings, the Notification Icon choice is grayed out. It will not let me turn the icon on.
    Very puzzling.

    Summary of your issues
“I can find no evidence whatsoever that it exists on my system.”
    --- “it” being Action Center
“The registry key is set at 1 which supposedly is the correct setting for On.”
”The notification icon is set to ON.”
“In the settings, the Notification Icon choice is grayed out. It will not let me turn the icon on.”

I don’t know the answer to your situation yet but maybe something in my observations can be helpful
--- Do you have your taskbar locked? Maybe it needs to turned off in order to make changes.
--- When I right click on my taskbar, show task view button is also checked

I followed Joe’s recommendation in post 4 and these are the settings in my computer
There is an Input Indicator, which is turned off with a black button
There is also a Location button and it is turned off with a gray button
--- I do not know what the location one refers to but it is turned off and since it's a gray button it cannot be turned on.
Then there is the Action Center and it is on.
--- Is this where the Action Center is grayed out and you cannot turn it on?

Settings | System | Notifications & Actions on the quick actions page
--- Show notifications on the lock screen is on
--- Hide notifications while presenting is off and is blacked out vs. grayed out

On the select which icons appear on the taskbar page
--- On the Location notification, your location is currently in use is turned off.

Another thing I would check is Control Panel and Security and Maintenance
--- Take a look at automatic maintenance and ensure that it reports no action is needed as well as the last run date.
--- I don’t check it everyday but it appears to me it runs on a daily basis
