    ACCESS SECURITY (97/SR2/NT4.0)

A simple question I hope. I currently manage a database where the only security is a home made logon screen which prompts for user name and password. The user name and password reside only in a table set up for users and do not reflect in any way the user name and password used to log on to the NT4.0 network. The big question is where can I go to get a much needed lesson in ACCESS security so that I can lock down the database better. I need to learn about how to set the user groups and permissions the correct way. Thanks in advance for any help. Kevin

Here's a good place to start...

You might also checkout the Access forum on Compuserve (click on link below). Then search the Access library sections using "Security" as a keyword. Among the files available are SECFAQ2K.DOC (for Access 2000) and SEQFAQ97.ZIP (for Access97). There is also a security whitepaper (SECURE70.EXE).
