    Critical error start menu

Blue screen "Critical Error, your start menu isn't working" is the greeting I now get every time menu use is attempted. I have searched several forums but have not found a fix. I cannot revert to prior Win 7. Any suggestions? thanks for all replies.

    welcome to the forum

it might help knowing what didnt work/fix for the issue.
but imo, I'd go for performing an in-place upgrade without losing anything other than all installed windows updates. please see the page for info and guide:
How to Do a Repair Install of Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade

a step relates to disabling the AV. best access would be through safe mode. tapping F8 key on reboot. let us know how it goes
