    Upgraded today to build 14342.

    Took about 3 hours.

After the upgrade most things seem to be working except File Explorer. The "File Explorer" shortcut in the Taskbar displays a generic icon, and Properties point to C:\Users\John\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\\Taskbar

Clicking on the "File Explorer" generic icon in the taskbar has no result (nothing opens, no error message, no indication that Windows is trying to launch the program).

Didn't file explorer move from the task bar to the start menu a couple of builds back?

Yes but you can still pin it to the task bar:
Start icon > Windows Accessories > Windows System > Right Click on File Explorer > More > Pin to Task Bar
    Or
Type File Explorer in Cortana > Right Click on File Explorer > Pin to Start

Coochin, try creating an new shortcut on the task bar using this method.
