Compose GMail window macro in Chrome

I have two variables set up, one that opens Chrome and one that starts up GMail and opens the Compose window. The work sometimes. But it seems that there is some type of memory hitch so that at times Chrome catches and won't complete the task

The first is gChrome, calling Chrome, is

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe

And the second, gMsg, starting GMail, is

    https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?ui...=1&tf=1&shva=1

Since they work at times, it would seem that the macros themselves are corrrect, but that there needs to be a "memory clear" function (?).

What might I do to get these to work?

It won't be a memory issue, those shortcuts either work or don't, the rest is up to your browser.
When they don't work, what happens?

The firstb time I run the two all seems to go fine with the rare hiccup. But then after, if I try to run the two again, more often thaan not it will hang after opening Chrome. The progress bar shows the initial running (of the second macro) but then it just hangs.

I can start Chrome dependably using the first var. And, I can call just the second var which will initiate through my default (Firefox) browser. But the two running in one shortcut...that gets a bit questionable.

What happens if you combine them into a new shortcut with this as the command? Don't forget the quotes around the chrome bit.
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?ui...=1&tf=1&shva=1
