    WIN7 no-reformat, nondestructive reinstall; Fred Langa July 14, 2011

I am attempting a Win7 no-reformat, nondestructive reinstall. I need to remove Service Pack for Microsoft Windows (KB976932), which appears on the list. However, after I select it, the Uninstall option does not appear.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

If the computer came with SP1 preinstalled then you can't uninstall it

However, this cmd may uninstall it, but if that doesn't work then you will need an install disk that includes SP1.

Go Start - type cmd then right click on cmd and select Run as administrator - accept the UAC then enter -

    wusa.exe /uninstall /kb:976932

You may be prompted to reboot if it works.
