    Goal Seek and Locked cells

Is it possible to have a locked cell as the 'Set Cell' of a Goal Seek?

The 'Set Cell' contains a worksheet formula that I don't want to be destroyed, so I protected the worksheet (which in turn locked the cell). I now find out that I can no longer change its value (not the formula) in the Goal Seek's window.

    Hi

..yes, you can have a locked protected cell as your 'Set Cell' of a Goal Seek.
    See attached file.
The sheet is locked. (no password set)
Cell [B4] is locked, but is used for the Goal Seek.

There must be something else happening on your file.
Can you post a copy without any sensitive info???

I found the problem: in the 'Protect sheet' pop up window, I had unchecked 'select locked cells', because I mistakenly thought you would then be able to change that cell.
