    Lightbulb first monthly rollup patch

    I received the rollup update via WU. It only contained 2 updates which were:
    Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB3156417)

    Installation date: ‎5/‎18/‎2016 8:42 AM

    Installation status: Successful

    Update type: Optional

    I moved this to its own thread because it is entirely separate from the convenience rollup in the original thread.

    KB5136417 is the May monthly rollup. In the monthly rollup the individual patches are not enumerated in the patch installation process and therefore not in the installed update list either. Only in the KB article.

    KB3139923 is a separate additional patch.

    Also, the patches included with the post-SP1 Rollup include Security fixes, whereas the monthly Rollups exclude Security fixes = Optional only.

    This specific optional Update can only refer to machines on a network, mainly those on a managed: work, network: "... installed on an HTTP share".

    I'm rather surprised that KB3156417 (May 2016 Monthly Rollup) is optional rather than recommended.
