    Outlook.com backup question

I was using Windows Live Mail, and accessing Hotmail through that. I have now switched to accessing Hotmail through Outlook.com.

My question is: how do I backup my personal email folders?

Sorry for such a basic question; but, if I am understanding things correctly (a low-probability event) with outlook.com my email is off in the cloud or at Microsoft somewhere; and I wont feel comfortable 'till I can back up my emai folders on my own computer or an external drive of mine.

    THanks for any help offered,
    Dick

Hotmail and Outlook.com are pretty much the same thing, Webmail. In Settings I find only an Import for messages, nothing about Export or Backup. I installed the SeaMonkey browser to get its E-Mail application, set it up for Hotmail and now and then use it to access my Hotmail which downloads to my computer. There's other freebies that can do the same such as OE Classic, Thunderbird, Incredimail, etc.

    BruceR:
THanks! I tried Mailstore Home and it's exactly what I was looking for.
    Best,
    Dick
