Stop Access second guessing me (2000 sr1a)

I cannot find anyway to prevent access auto entering data for me in datasheet view. When entering data down a column or across a row, and you enter 2 consecutive numbers, access autoenters the next number in the sequence, which is mostly totally inappropriate. I have tried turning off autocomplete etc, but to no avail. I may be missing the answer, because i don't really know what this "feature" is called, but can find nothing in help, MSKB, a google usenet search or searching here.

    Thanks

Is the field defined as an Auto Number that is incrementing automatically?

    Hi,
According to the MSKB (<A target="_blank" HREF=http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-GB;q271607&GSSNB=1>Q271607</A>), there is no way to turn this off unfortunately. It only happens with certain datatypes and sometimes only if there is no default value set, so you may be able to work around it.
    Hope that's of some help.
    Regards,

NO! Any number field will do so, and, bizarrely, it only happens once. For instance if you fill 1, then 2, as you move to the next field access will add 3, but when you move again, it will not add 4. It also happens for increments of 2, but not for increments of 3 or higher.

    Gawk! That's so bad!!!

Am I talking about the feature, or the new MSKB search engine that didnt' manage to turn up that article in my searches. Either way, not a good day.

BTW, don't you love the lines: "Microsoft Access 2000 includes a new feature that is named AutoFill. This feature is built into Access, and it is always enabled. You cannot disable it. "

    Excuse me?

Does anyone know if this nasty has been changed in XP?
