Duplicate Printer Icons in Notifications area?

I recently had to uninstall, and then reinstall my Epson printer, and now there are duplicate icons in the Notifications Area:

    XP-310 SERIES NETWORK,
    XP-310 SERIES NETWORK (COPY 1),
    XP-310 SERIES, and
    XP-310 SERIES (COPY 1).

In Control Panel, only these are listed:

    XP-310 SERIES (COPY 1)
    XP-310 SERIES NETWORK

Is there a way for me to delete those duplicates and properly name the others?

    Thanks for any help!

See if the dupes are listed in
    Settings > Devices
If so, left click on them and then select Remove Device

To rename, left click on an entry and select Manage > Printer Properties

    Thank you, Jerry.

Only 2 (of the 4) are listed in Devices so I can't delete the "phantoms" from there.

Is there a way for me to delete the 2 phantom icons from the Notifications?

Also, I couldn't rename (I tried left and also right clicking).

    Thanks again,

    Alan

I've gotten duplicates in Devices and Printers after an uninstall/reinstall when I haven't removed the devices first in Devices and Printers, but never any duplicates in the notification area.

Another full install may not resolve either because I still have icons from uninstalled programs in my notification list.

You could change their notification settings to Hide icon and notification.

Although I ran into this a couple of weeks ago during a service call, I didn't investigate the possible reasons nor what to do to possibly correct them.
Based entirely on what I assumed would be the quickest option, I downloaded the latest installation file from the manufacturer's website, I uninstalled the printer(s), and rebooted. Finally, I ran the installation software and followed the prompts. Afterward there were no duplicates and printing and scanning worked correctly. YMMV.

    Thanks Rock (and Sudo).

I am sure my recent printer removal/reinstall triggered this problem.

I am hesitant to do yet another removal/reinstall, at least not for a while.

Meanwhile, I've hidden those dup icons.

    Thanks again,

    Alan
