    Import image for desktop folder

I know you can customize a desktop folder by right clicking, choosing Properties, then Customize tab, Change Icon button. However the selection is limited and not too broad.

How can I import an image from a Google search images to a .jpg file saved to my desktop.

Would like to make the folders a little more user friendly.

    Thanks in advance,

Kind of answered my own question by doing some research.

Microsoft icon images are ".ico" format. Find an image, then save it to your desktop as a .jpeg file. Do a web search for a free .ico converter that will change .jpeg to .ico. There are several that will work. Now save the newly converted .ico image in a desktop folder since you need to keep it available for this to work. Now right click the folder you want to change, choosing Properties, then Customize tab, Change Icon button. Look for you new image using the Browse button. Click OK, Apply, and OK. There you have it.
