    Win 10 Reset

I had a friend bring me his Win10 desktop. The computer would not boot into windows. I used the built in tools to reset the install. Worked fine till you log into the account. Just a blank screen.
    Chkdsk finds no errors.
I was getting a werfault.exe error but that has gone away.
Sfc runs but finishes with the error "windows resource protection could not perform requested operation" There are no log files in \\.\logs\cbs

I'm leaning toward believing whatever caused the failure to boot corrupted the user data too.

So, I my last option is to reset and clear user data unless someone can offer other suggestions.

First thing is always a backup to external disk, then you can play without worrying. Booting from a recovery disk will allow you to backup no matter what Windows is doing.
This page shows how to create a new user from a system that won't let you log in.

I can log in but then NOTHING

Use Ctrl Alt Delete and enter task manager -- I can see the user info BUT the user desktop is just a blank black screen.
