Word 2007 - Printing without Tracked Changes

I have edited a document with Tracking turned ON and now I want to print it as if it is the Final Version but I also need to have paragraphs where the editing occurred marked with the vertical line in the left margin. I have done this before but not with Word 2007.

In Review Tab I have gone the combinations of Balloons, Display for Review and Show Markup settings as well as the 'Print What' settings in the Printer dialogue with no success.

    Any clues?

Does that not show a "Document Showing Markup" choice? It should.

Smile Word 2007 - Printing without Tracked Changes

    Thanks for you response Lugh.

For Word 2007 when printing the 'Print What' option does show two choices Final or Showing Markup. As expected 'Final' does just that, the doc with no indication as to what was changed, and 'Showing Markup' shows all the changes made with vertical lines in the left margin where these changes were made.

What I was wanting was the 'final document' plus 'the vertical lines in the left margin where changes were made' and that doesn't seem to be an option in Word 2007.

However, I now have a solution.

This was to copy the document and move it to my old PC with XP. The PC still has Word 2003 and using the "Document Showing Markup" choice it prints the vertical lines in the left margin where changes were made and the final text, which is underlined. But the detail of any changes that were deletions are ignored but the vertical lines still in the left margin. So I have what I want - the final document showing where changes have been made.

From Word version 2007 and 2010, and I suspect later versions but I have not tested these, there is no way to show insertions and ignore the deletions. Sometime newer is not always better. I like to show the reader what's new in the document without all those messy details in the background.

Thanks. I hope this may assist others.
