    It seems your 'unformatted' document has already had some changes made to the code, as it already doesn't work properly. Amongst other things, some variables are undefined. It's a bit difficult knowing what changes are required when some of the original code is missing. That said, your simplest solution would have been to hide (& resize) the definitions frame & contents, leaving the checkbox unchecked.

    As Paul says, the code wouldn't work on any version of Word as it currently stands. It needs a substantial cleanup to get it working (again?). All the variables need to be defined in the subs where they are called unless they are created as global variables.

    It could also be made way more efficient if you changed your FindReplace macro to allow wildcard strings and then took advantage of that.

    Thank you will take another look. Yes it does work but it was a particular environment.

    jec1: Kindly don't delete the content of posts as you've done to your opening post in this thread. As it now stands, the replies lack any context. Whilst it may have been appropriate to delete the attachment under some circumstances (with an annotation explaining why), there was no reason to delete the entire post.
