Re: adding a sytem tray icon

Do you mean System Tray or Quick Launch?
If you do mean System Tray, what do you want to indicate? that you are connected to it?
If you mean Quick launch, easiest way is to creat a shortcut on your desktop then simply drag it onto the Quick Launch Toolbar

    Leif,
If the system tray is the bit where the clock is, that's what I mean !!! The website will be an ASP site that will present live and changing info. I want the site to open when the users logs on to the network but then reside in the sys tray. If there are changes to the site/info, I would like the icon to flash.
Am I asking too much ?

If you familiar with programming languages as C++ and Java, you can write EXE that put an icon into the Systray and make it flash reloading your webpage from time to time. But the major problem will be to force the user to run this EXE remotely (all Antivirus programs usually prevent it or show warning messages.)

    Hi
If you want to put an *.exe file in the Systray, use QuickTray from the Windows 98 CD ROM. (Tools/ResKit/DeskTop). It won't work for links directly, though. More's the pity.
