    Zeus Popup-- help

    We suddenly got a pop-up:

Windows detected Zeus virus, the infections detected, indicate some recent downloads on the computer which in turn has created problems on ...

etc. (it ends by asking us to call some phone # -=-FORGET THAT!)

We shut down the computer and then rebooted.
    So far, no repeat.

I will run my AV program (NIS) and then Malwarebytes.

When I tried to research it, I keep getting sites that start out ok, but they eventually say to d/l SpyHunter.
This seems like a disguised ad for that program.

Any suggestions on how I can manually get rid of this (if it is even a problem)?

No SpyHunter (spit) needed, carefully follow the steps here:

STEP 1: Scan your computer with AdwCleaner
STEP 2: Scan your computer with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
STEP 3: Double-check for malware with HitmanPro
(OPTIONAL) STEP 5: Scan your computer with Zemana AntiMalware
(OPTIONAL) STEP 4: Reset your browser to the default settings
More to it than the above barebones but it looks pretty straightforward.
