How to make Internet Explorer the Default

I've just updated to Win10. How do I make Internet Explorer rather that Edge the default browser? I've tried various searches looking for this information with no success.

How should I find this info for myself in Win10?

    Thanks,
    Bill

Do it the old-fashioned way, but a most reliable way.............. ( it has been used since Vista , then Win 7, then Win8/8.1 and now Win 10 )

Right click at the Start button > click Control Pane > top right, click View by > choose either Large or Small > click Default Programs > Choose your default programs > wait for it to olad > left side, scroll to Internet Explorer > click it > right side, click Set this program as default > click OK when done.

That's it. Your IE11 is now your defaut browser.

FYI : here is the "Windows 10 " way.............

Start button > Settings > System > left side, Default apps > right side, scroll down to Web browser > click Microsoft Edge > click Internet Explorer > exit.

In case you do not know :

Start button > All apps > scroll to alphabet W > click open Windows Accessories > Internet Explorer is on the list.

Right click at Internet Explorer > you can do one of the 3 methods :

    1. Right click at Internet Explorer > Pin to Start

    2. Right click at Internet Explorer > click More > Pin to Taskbar

    3. Right click at Internet Explorer > More > Open file location > right click at Internet Explorer > Send to > Desktop (create shortcut)

Thanks davidhk for both your messages. I learned a lot while I worked my way through all the methods you described. That was very helpful and I have also accomplished my default setting too.

    1. Click on Start.
    2. Click on Settings.
    3. Click on System.
    4. Click on Default apps.
    5. In the right-hand pane, scroll down and, under Web browser, click on Microsoft Edge.
    6. Click on Internet Explorer in the Choose an application popup dialog that appears.

    7. When the popup dialog disappears, just close the Settings dialog.

    Hope this helps...
