    Firefox - saving attachments+

I am trying to figure out how to save e-mail attachments and similar types of things from my Gmail running under Firefox. When I get an e-mail with an attachment, I can save it, but, unlike IE, I do not seem to be able to determine the folder that it can be saved to. It will save the attachment, but I do not seem to have any way of determining where it is being saved to. I get this "panel" when I try to save an attachment and if the "Save File" button is highlighted, the attachment is saved, but I have no way of telling it where to save the file, or determining where FF saved the file.

I would like to know the following:

How can I save an attachment to a folder of my choice?

Where does it save the attachments from this panel?

Any insight that anyone can provide will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Ron,

It's determined by your settings for downloads (Tools->Options->General).

Currently your files are going to the folder that shows in your version of the above.

Change to the yellow highlighted selection and it will prompt you every time you do a download with a standard file save window.

In addition to RetiredGeek's advice, if you press CTRL+J together in Firefox you'll see a dialog showing everything that's been downloaded. You can right-click on any entry and choose Open Containg Folder.

    Hope this helps...

RG and Rick, these both help.

RG, your instruction is exactly what I was looking for.

Rick, this is a very useful piece of information. Where do you find all these "goodies"?

There's no secret, it's just familiarity. I don't like Interbred Exploder and have been using Firefox for a long, long time (and now Pale Moon as well).

I never had any problem with IE until Win 10, then it went stupid on me. So far Firefox is doing what I need it to do.
