    PowerPoint Animation (97)

Our company uses PPT 97 on Win2000 OS. After a .mpg or .avi file plays, a mouse-click will advance the show to the next slide, but then the show freezes. This does not happen with the Pg Up/Pg Dwn or arrow keys. Sometimes it is necessary to run the slideshow using the mouse to advance the show, any suggestions?

FYI - We use Dell PCs and this is not a problem on our NT OS.

Well, a truly ugly work-around is to change the behavior of your mouse just before and after one of these shows. We often switch to a wireless mouse when we connect our laptop to a projector and we switch the right button to mimic the BACKSPACE key. I find it less obtrusive than allowing a pop-up menu to show up on the large screen
