    Query Design View Malfunction

    Hi,
I have a db with a couple of hundred queries built in it. The queries have been running fine until I made a couple of changes this morning. I "softcoded" some of the criteria in the queries. When I say "softcoded", I mean that I created a control form that links back to the queries whereby you can specify your criteria from the form. By the way the queries are append queries. When I made these changes it will not allow me to go into the design view of any of the append queries except the original that I copied all of the others from. Has anyone ever encountered this? Is there a solution to getting back into the design view of these queries. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Hi,
Do you get an error message or does it simply not do anything?

    Hi Rory,
I can actually see that it is trying to open in design view. It actually flashes up there for less than a second. But as soon as it flashes up on the screen if defaults back to the main query window. Ever encountered this? It is a first for me!

    Hi,

    Did you try:

    - to repair the database?
    - to compact the database?
and if those two does not give the desired results:
    - make a new database, import all the objects from the old database and try it again in the new database.

Often this will help while encountering insolvable problems.
