    Dvd

I have a Dell Laptop with Windows 10 and each time I insert a DVD , I have to go to the device manager to disable the DVD and then enable it so I can use the DVD

It would be appreciated if someone could advise me on how to overcome this so I do NOT have to disable the DVD and then re-enable it

    1. In Device Manager, does the DVD drive have a Power Management tab? If so, check whether there's a tick in the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power checkbox. If there is then remove the tick.

    2. Have a look at this post about a similar issue then try powering down, unplugging the power adapter and removing the battery then replacing them and powering up again. I know it's about Windows 7 but the same hardware advice applies.

    3. I also found an article that seems to describe the issue you are having and suggests several possible fixes. Have a look at [Fix] CD/DVD Drive Not Detected or Working In Windows 10.

    Hope this helps...
