How To Remove GMail Account From Import Email Accounts

How do I remove my Gmail account from being imported into Outlook "Import Email Accounts?" It causes duplicates in my Thunderbird email client.

    • Import email accounts Inbox > Options > Import email accounts

Choose from where you want to import your account:

    Google (xxxxxxxx@gmail.com)

    Gmail and contacts

    Yahoo

    Email

    Other email provider

    Email

    Email apps on your PC

    Email and contacts

this appears to be from Outlook.com. I don't believe you have any control over what appears in those options. Just ignore it and don't import from Gmail if you don't want to.

I DON'T want to import from Gmail! I'm trying to stop Outlook from importing from Gmail. What you see above is my Gmail address with the actual name x'd out. I don't know how to remove it. Thanks in advance.

It won't import anything unless you tell it to.

rastyng, are you saying you have your Gmail account set up in Outlook(.com) and want to remove it? The text you show in #1 does seem to be ambiguous, so perhaps a screen shot (with personal info obscured might help here. Snipping tool can be used in Win 8/10, perhaps even in 7 to do this.

I am indeed accessing my Hotmail email settings in Outlook.com. I click on the gear next to my name in the upper right hand corner, click on options, then click on Import email accounts. I did use the Snipping Tool to take a screenshot, but I don't know how to paste or insert it into this reply.

I'm trying to "undo" what I had done weeks earlier, which was to have hotmail/outlook import email from my Gmail account. The Snipping Tool screenshot effectively looks like this:

Import email accounts Inbox > Options > Import email accounts

Choose from where you want to import your account:

Google (xxxxxxxxx@gmail.com) NOTE: I have x'd out my real user name in gmail

    Gmail and contacts

    Yahoo

    Email

    Other email provider

    Email

    Email apps on your PC

    Email and contacts

For future reference, inserting an image (always worth a thousand words!) can be done by clicking on the insert image button, the third one from the end of the row just above the quick reply (highlighted in yellow).

    insert.PNG

Click on 'From computer' tab, then the browse button and navigate to where your image is. Select it and click upload file(s)

If you want to see what it looks like, click on 'Go advanced' to the right of the 'post quick reply' button.

I'm assuming you're looking at Outlook.com via a browser. In Edge (and I assume it's not different to other browsers) the attached image shows what I think you should be seeing. It's under Mail/Accounts/connected accounts. Your gmail address should be shown and I see a delete button just above - do you not have this?

No, that's not what I see when I open Outlook.com in any browser, including Edge. When I enter Outlook.com in any browser it goes directly to my Outlook.com inbox. I don't see how to get to Mail/Accounts/connected accounts from that page. Thanks again for your help.

When you're at the inbox try clicking the gear wheel and then 'Connected accounts'

    Does that help?

Thanks Browni, that's the step I omitted to list above.
