Possible to retrieve folders from Windows 8.1 after Windows 10 upgrade?

When I installed Windows 10 all my files from Windows 8.1 were present. I recently discovered that a folder, which was present, is now missing. It's a folder of video clips. I find it difficult to believe that I did it accidentally, but, of course it's possible.

Can I retrieve it from Windows 8.1, which is supposed to have been saved in case I want to roll-back, without actually rolling back?

The files on my C drive are shown in the attached picture.

There's no WindowsOld folder, which would have been removed after the 30/10 day test period was up, so unless you manually backed up that folder elsewhere or have an image/backup from that period or earlier, it looks like you're out of luck.

Files are not moved during the upgrade so there is nothing to find in W8.
It is possible that the folder permissions /attributes prevent you seeing it.
Where / what was the folder?
Can you see it using the following in a Command Prompt? (dir c:\ /ad)

    cheers, Paul

Download and run Everything Search from www.voidtools.com . Open it and plug in your video folder name. If its on your computer, Everything will find it.

satrow, no I have no backups for that period. I thought that the old Windows 8.1 installation was going to be permanently available.

Paul T, the command prompt didn't reveal the folder I wanted.
    Your good health.

jwitalka, I'm afraid that didn't find it.

    Paul T,

I also run CCleaner frequently, often several times a day. But thank you for the suggestion.

I am now resigned to the fact that the folder is gone forever.
