    Modem Dial Up

Problems with my dial up. During the last 3 days when i dialup my BT Anytime number my modem only connects at 33300 bps, normally before a few days ago it connects at 44400 bps. I was wondering what has suddenly changed, whether it was a Bt problem or whether it was something to do with my modem. I haven't changed any settings on my modem so there is no reason why it should connect at a lower transfer rate. Any ideas wud be brill.

I'd check with your ISP to see if they have made any changes.
Have you moved your PC to a different socket? Or been deluged with rain? Anything that can affect the 'quality' of the line can affect your connection speed.

    Re: Modem Dial Up

Well i connected last night at 33.3bps. And as far as i know nothing has changed on the isp side of things, and later on last night i tried to connect and it said that the computer that i was dialing into does not accept network requests, this was when it was trying to verify my username and password
