    Apache help, kinda a beginner with windows admin....

    To whoever can please help... I have install apache successfully but cant get it to start up. I am not sure what I am doing wrong here or what needs done to get it to run. Any help would be appreciated.

    server 2007 service pack 2

    trying to start from command line I type:
    httpd -k -restart

    error.log:

    when trying to start it from the services window, I get the following error popup:
    "Windows could not start the Apache2.4 service on Local Computer.
    Error 3: The system cannot find the path specified."

    Looks like a bad install with that path error.
    Un-install and re-install.

    If you have more problems it may be better to ask on the Apache forums.

    That seemed to help. Any advice on the following?

    apache mod rewrite not enabled, please help
    Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong here?

    I have apache running as a service
    I have uncommented (removed the # sign from the beginning of the line) in the httpd.conf file for

    LoadModule rewrite_module modules/mod_rewrite.so

    when looking at php_info I don't see anything about the rewrite which makes me feel like for some reason its not enabled. not sure what I am doing wrong here.. I'm kinda a new guy when it comes to windows admin stuff so it could be as simple as turning something on.

    Please help...

    Did you stop/restart Apache after amending the httpd.conf file?
