    screen degradation

    My HP Pavilion laptop when the lid is moved the screen degrades as the lid is moved

    That sounds like a cable or connector problem that can occur over time through opening and closing the lid.

    That's a question to ask a trusted local computer repair shop - but beware that they may want 50 just to open up the laptop...

    You can buy the Inverter cables but it may just need plugging in properly and you should be able to find disassembly instructions for your laptop courtesy of Google, if you feel confident about doing it yourself.

    PC World have a fixed Labour charge of 50 for a Fault and Fix and then the cost of any parts is added to that.

    They charged me 115 in total to change the motherboard on this Toshiba laptop which I didn't think was bad.

    And the LCD panel will appear to degrade as it is moved in relation to the eyes viewing it, has somewhat to do with the change of the angle it is being viewed at.
