Post Malwarebytes snaps up PC scrubber AdwCleaner

    http://www.zdnet.com/article/malware...er-adwcleaner/

In the short-term, Malwarebytes says AdwCleaner will be given a "facelift" and the company will work to enhance its detection and analysis abilities. While AdwCleaner will remain free as a standalone product, in the long-term, the company wishes to learn from the software "and integrate the technology into our flagship product," Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.

This is one takeover I don't have an 'issue' with, since Malwarebytes have always seemed to be 'good guys'...

Yes, they do seem to have collected quite a team of good people over the years.

It certainly looks like a "positive" buy rather than some of the other recent acquisitions by other company's.

Hopefully you guys are right, that MB will stay focused on products and customers.

However... Any company which has gotten $80M venture capital over two rounds has made some strong commitments to facilitate a nice profit for the VC guys in the not-too-distant future, so there is or will be a money game kicking in.

What that usually means is the focus moves from products and customers to financial performance enhancers like acquiring smaller companies.

PS hmm this thread suggests MB may be moving away from customer focus and 'earning' reputation and sales, and towards the corporate focus of buying customers via marketing--a typical money-game evolution.
