Firefox setting will not stay ticked to false
I have 2 PC's and ran across this trick for moving Firefox cache to ram. http://lifehacker.com/5687850/speed-up-firefox-by-moving-your-cache-to-ram-no-ram-disk-required
I was able to do this successfully on 1 PC, but no matter what I do, the browser.cache.disk.enable will not stay ticked to false. When I come back to it, it has always been changed back to true. The PC that this worked has always had a 2nd partition for apps whereas the other PC just had a 2nd partition created for this. I had uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it on the new partition so I am wondering if this may have something to do with my inability to change this setting.
Any ideas or help appreciated, thanks

This trick was posted at Lifehacker in 2010. I'm not sure it is still valid.
Boris Zbarsky from Mozilla had this to say in 2010. "We have ongoing work for Fx4 to make use of the memory cache as well as the disc cache for the same content (right now we use one or the other but not both for any given resource). Once we do that, you'll get all the benefits of this "tweak" without the drawbacks... and using the tweak at that point will be a strict loss. -Boris"
I don't know if firefox now uses both memory and disk cache.
