How to link IIS to Exchange?

We have just set up SharePoint Team Services on our W2K Advanced Server using IIS 5. In setting up its SMTP virtual mail server, I am unable to figure out how to tell the server to send mail to recipients on our Exchange server, which is on the same network. The subscription and invitation e-mails from SPTS are still sitting in the queue folder, and there are some notices in the badmail folder.

Re: How to link IIS to Exchange?

Office XP Professional. I think I now have it working, by creating a new virtual domain pointing to our Exchange server. I then set up the default domain to send everything to the new domain via smart host. Is this the best way to do it? Documentation on this specific and important procedure was hard to find.
