    Windows 10 home patch kb3200970

I cannot get the above patch to install.
I have downloaded the manual patch, but still cannot install it, despite Update history says earlier that it is installed successfully, subsequent history report says otherwise, see image below. Any help please.

Looks like you have another one on there that refuses to install also KB 3197954 has never installed.
You can try downloading them from MS catalog and running them as suggested here http://sihmar.com/fix-windows-10-upd...-screen-error/

Thank you for your reply. The earlier patch was for October which I downloaded from MS catalog & which failed to install so I hoped the Latest patch (November) would install but without success as you can see.
The latest failure was following a manual download from MS catalog too.

Open a Command Prompt (Admin) and enter these two cmds then see if they will install successfully.

    dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup

    dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

exit (to close the cmd window when done)

Note there is a space before each /

Can you run a sfc /scannow to check that no corruption remains.

In Update history can you click on the failed updates to see if it gives you a fail error code.

In Win 7/Update history, you would right click on the failed updates, but I don't have any failed updates in Win 10 to see if you get the same info when just clicking on them.

Another way to post the output of a cmd window is to right click in the cmd window - click on Select all - press enter then right click in the reply box and select Paste.

    Hi,

No response from right click in History.

Again today I got a restart notice for KB3200970 despite Update history showing it was successfully installed on November 10th.
It would seem updates are continually downloading, kb3197954 was never successfully installed.

As you can see below, the sfc scan does not complete (I have tried twice).
    Screen as follows:

    Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.14393]
    (c) 2016 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

    C:\WINDOWS\system32>sfc /scannow

Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
    Verification 45% complete.

Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation.

    C:\WINDOWS\system32>

    Any other suggestions please ?
    Cheers.

You could look in Event Viewer to see if it has recorded an error for the sfc fail, but if you've created a Win 10 install disk then I'd go for a repair install after disabling your antivirus program and opt not to check for updates in the process.

It may hang after the second reboot but a power shutdown and restart may enable it to recover the installation.

What did you get with just a left click on the failed updates in history - for the successful ones, it tells you what they are for, so it may also give an error code for the fails.

EDIT - run a chkdsk /f to see if that also fails.
