    create a numbered list within a fillable form

    Hi,
    using word 2010.

    creating a fillable form document where one of the fields the user types what will be a list. I would like it to auto format this as a numbered list.

    to clarify, the user would tab to this field and type. when he hit "enter", the next line would begin with the "2)" and he would continue to type. hit "enter" again and the next line would begin with "3)", and so on.

    I thought I had it by going into properties and picking "number" under "type", but that didn't work.

    any thoughts?

    Rick

    The paragraph numbering is done with numbered paragraph styles. This is no different to numbering other paragraphs.

    However, if you are using Content Controls for your 'fields' then you will need to use a Rich Text control since plain text controls only accept line breaks.
