My Task Bar Does Not Work

My task bar has been acting up lately and I don't know what to do. Sometimes when I am
on a site and I have several windows open, small versions of these windows pop up on the
bottom of my screen. Sometimes I can close the small ones by clicking on one of them, sometimes
    not.

Today nothing on my task bar is working. I can left click or right click to open something and nothing
happens. I use roboform and today when I try to use my password to fill out login info, the password
box jumps down to the task bar and I can't get it to open. Basically I'm locked out of my roboform.

I have win10 and everything is up to date. Virus/malware scans are ok. Any suggestions?

    Thanks

I assume you have Restarted your computer?

Then I would delete your Windows temporary files and internet temporary files. If you are not sure how to do that, run Windows DISK CLEANUP and put in the check for the above 2 types of files.

Then Restart again and see if everything is working like before.

The "small versions" that you mention are thumbnails of your running programs. If you close a thumbnail, it will close that program, browser tab or window.

I did restart my pc and deleted all temp files. Everything on the task bar works as it should except for the thumbnails that
keep jumping up. I don't want to close them because I am using the windows that are opened. Guess I'll just keep cursing
    them.

    Thanks for your help.

That is normal behaviour for program windows that are open in Win10. You should only see those thumbnails when you hover over the programs' shortcuts in the taskbar.

I'm not hovering, they seem to have a mind of their own. They will usually jump back to the taskbar if I click somewhere on the thumbnails.

You can turn off the thumbnails feature:
    Open Control Panel
    Internet Options
Click on TABS (located in the middle of the window)
Take out the checkmark: SHOW PREVIEWS FOR INDIVIDUAL TABS IN THE TASKBAR
    Click OK
    Restart your computer.

    Thanks Browni just not reading...

Does that address the OPs question? Task bar popup window views or what ever those annoying little things are called.

    Wavy,
Yes, that should get rid of those thumbnails if that is what he wants to do.

As a sidenote, on my old and slow laptop (that won't accept more than 4GB of RAM memory) it helps the browser in not stalling as much.

Yea, it worked. Now I'll have to find something else to curse about!
    Thank you so much.
