    Unicode?

I'm not at all clear on capability / reasoning for choosing ANSI, UTF-8, or UTF-16 for editing. Several editors handle them all, so why not just always use one or the other?

A nice education, Joe. Learning all the time. I keep close by, a list of all the Alt+xxxx characters, being bilingual has its drawbacks.
    Be good. Jean.

Why indeed. I looked into this 6-7 years ago from the POV of having my English language output clearly readable by the widest range of devices and software, and settled on UTF-8 for everything. No problems so far.
